Khumjung – Solukhumbu

Located at 3’790m in the middle of the UNESCO world heritage Sagarmatha national park, with view on the Everest, Khumjung is the place to be if you are looking for quietness, authenticity and simplicity in a beautifully preserved nature.

2 to 3 days walk will be necessary to reach the village from Lukla, the nearest airport. This first trekking will allow the body to gradually get accustomed to the altitude and to slowly immerge in the Sherpa culture. With no rush, at your own speed, enjoying every step and open to serendipitous encounters.

After resting a few days in the village, learning some sherpa’s songs, games and culinary recipes, you might want to venture further in the mountain to look after the yacks and the naks, to visit some monasteries, take part in festivals (according to the period) or go on a more demanding trekking to the Goky lakes or the Everest base camp.
